I have written a blog post on my other website this morning so I thought I would post it here as well.
This is a PDF crochet pattern for a textured square, called Lockton Squares. I am making them into a blanket using the new Stylecraft special DK colours, buttermilk, vintage peach and mushroom plus cream and mocha. These blanket colours are also available as a yarn pack for £8.75.
I thought I would do a little introduction of who we are at Wool to your door. My name is Alison, I live in Teesside in the North East of England. I have been interested in crafts for many years. I have been teaching mainly crocheting for over 20 years but I have also taught tatting, embroidery, card making, bead weaving and lots more.
Designing crochet patterns is what I enjoy the most, which I currently sell on http://alicraftsdeisgns.co.uk website. I also teach crochet classes and workshops from home.
I am married to Phil, who puts up with me ordering lots of wool and then taking over the house with wool everywhere. We both love travel and photography.
I have two daughters, Sarah and Louise. Louise has two boys and is a stay at home Mam, so she helps me out with Wool to your door in her spare time. She does most of the website technical stuff and social media posts. She enjoys crocheting as well.
Around January 2016 we decided to start selling wool online, mostly just Stylecraft yarns at first but now we are looking to sell other wools and yarns.
Cloudy now after a bright start… can’t really say much more than that today I have not been outside yet. The tree outside of our garden is covered in bloom, which makes everything feel bright and cheerful.
Phil and I had a few nights away last weekend, continuing our epic journey around the coast. We have been travelling to many lovely bays and harbours for a few years in an attempt to go all round the UK coastline. We have done the North East coastline from Spurn Point up to Aberdeen. A bit of Wales and a bit of Cornwall and some of the west coast of Scotland, this time it was to the North coast of Norfolk, we stayed in Titchwell and travelled to Cromer stopping at different places on the way. The weather was beautiful and we were amazed at how many flowers were out in the gardens in some of the lovely villages. Wells next the Sea was a particularly nice place, I was very impressed at how clean everywhere was, even round a skate park.
News from Wool to your door

I am waiting still for the Caron Cakes to arrive. I am really enjoying using the Caron Simply Soft aran yarn which came last week.
I am hoping to order more tomorrow. Our house is turning into a wool shop there really is no more room for any more. My eldest Grandson says not more wool Gran and the youngest said yes more woolp.
I have finished the knitted shawl only the fringing to add, I am trying to make up my mind on wether I want to or just leave it plain.
I hope that you all enjoy a little look into my life and that I don’t bore you chattering on too much, when I first started this blogging lark I found it hard to think of something to say but now I can’t stop, but I really must go to the post office and I have some calls to make, so Cheerio for today, talk to you soon,
